Checking your punctuation in your story is critical to make sure it reads well. Very often we can forget to use punctuation because we've got so many ideas bustling around in our heads that we just want to get written onto the page! Use the support video and the sheet to work through the level you choose. There are different forms of punctuation for each level of challenge. Good Luck
MILD - Full stops, capital letters, exclamation marks, question marks.
MEDIUM - All of the above plus speech marks, commas and ellipses.
SPICY - All of the above plus semi-colons, colons and brackets too.
YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR FINAL DRAFT FOR MARKING TODAY SO WE CAN SEND IT OFF TOMORROW!
Let's continue looking at fractions. Watch the video above before attempting to complete the worksheet. We're looking at unit fractions and what actually makes a fraction, a fraction!
MILD - Answer questions 1,2,3 and 4
MEDIUM - 1,2,3,4,5 and 6
SPICY - Try to complete the whole sheet.
Remember, if you need ANY help at all, you know where I am to provide you with extra teaching videos or phonecalls to guide you through how to do the tasks. Good Luck!
Marshmallow/Spaghetti Building Earthquake Challenge
Watch the video with Ruan and Mr Wakeling below. We've build a few different buildings from spaghetti and marshmallows (the big ones work just as well as the small ones). Tape your buildings down to a surface which you can move. You could use a tray, or a table. Then shake the surface to simulate an earthquake. Who can make the tallest building without it collapsing! We weren't very successful at all! It's a good job I'm a teacher not an architect!
Build a forest out of sticks and a left-over box like the one below. Take a picture to see if you can make it look like a real forest!
