We encourage a healthy lifestyle in Dosbarth Rhondda as we feel it supports children’s mental health as well as their physical health. As well as encouraging a healthy snack, daily water intake and a healthy packed lunch, last year we participated in the 15 minute mile and it was a great success!
Children not only thoroughly enjoyed it but they saw increased fitness levels and recieved encouragement and praise off their peers, but also an increase in mental alertness which improved their concentration.
Every afternoon the children will be taking part in the 15 minute mile which they can walk or run. We ask you for a child to bring appropriate footwear ie) trainers or daps to participate. They can leave these in school and return home either Friday or at the end of term if they wish.
