Autumn Term 1
It’s been a wonderful term in reception and we have been loving our topic “Marvellous creations and celebrations”. We have been learning all about Harvest and the story of the Little Red Hen. We found out that her friends were not very kind to her so we sorted pictures of what being a good friend looks like and it has transpired to our classroom; where we are all kind friends. We had a video call off the Little Red Hen asking us to help her harvest vegetables and we used our amazing counting skills to count what we harvested. She needed our help again with instructions make bread. We had to put the instructions in the correct order and then we followed them to make our own bread. We learnt about celebrations in different cultures and acted out the story of Rama and Sita for Diwali. Everyone has settled in Reception really well and we are looking forward to continuing our learning next half term.
Autumn term 2
The fun hasn't stopped this term we have continued our topic and made some amazing bonfire night art. Then we started learning all about letters so we could write letters to santa. We enjoyed our walk to the Post Office to post them and we had a reply!
We gave the West end a run for its money with out performance of Whoops-a-Daisy Angel and impressed all the parents as we sang our final song in sign language.
This term our topic is Castles, Dragons and Giants. Stay tuned to see our adventures
